The project brief was to renew 128 existing townhouses owned by BC Housing and occupied predominantly by families. The entire site was rejuvenated with new landscaping and each building was upgraded to make them more energy efficient, including: new windows, doors, insulation and rain screen siding; new mechanical systems and a solar panel system large enough to generate 10% of the site's electrical needs.
The solar panel installation along with the removal of natural gas systems made the site green house gas neutral - one of the goals of BC Housing for this pilot project.
